This post discusses the origin of my logo, the Sacred Self-Healing Heart Symbol.

How this symbol came to me
The one-winged heart symbol that is my logo came to me in a meditation. In this meditation, I saw in my mind’s eye a heart with a wing, or short tentacles flowing lovingly outward, on the left side.
The symbol was shimmery and tinged with all of the colors of the rainbow. The heart represented love, and the wing/tentacles reach out to embrace those in need. On the opposite side of the heart there is no wing, just the smooth contour of the heart, representing the holding of clear boundaries. Here is the watercolor painting I made of this symbol after I received the image in medication.
The wounded healer archetype
Embedded in the center of it is the symbol of Chiron the healer,
(the letter “K” with a circle attached underneath it). It represents “our deepest wound, and our efforts to heal the wound” (Wikipedia). My natal chart points to where I have healing powers as the result of my own deep spiritual wounds.
I hold the “Wounded Healer” Archetype, and I am coming into my own as a spiritual healer. The combined symbol, of the winged heart and Chiron, represent what I am becoming.
The heart symbol collage
For my Bachelor’s Creative Project, I created a collage representing the winged heart out of paper pieces of many different colors, cut into 1-inch hexagons. The materials are a holographic representation of the symbol. Each hexagon, like an individual cell of a beehive, contains the entirety of the whole. Each hexagon in the collage represents a piece of the heart, each one represents the symbol Chiron and is also a universe unto itself.
The symbol evolved
The idea for the piece came to me over several days. I wanted to create an image of the winged heart symbol I had received in meditation. The many different colored papers symbolize the pieces of me that have come together to make up the spiritual healer I am becoming. Some of the hexagons are cut from photographs of the natural world from National Geographic magazine — of Aurora Borealis, water, sky, animals, leaves, flowers, etc. Some of the hexagons are cut from fabric, and others are from papers with different designs. I felt the image was “busy” enough without trying to add the symbol of Chiron in the center, so I imagine that each hexagon is imprinted with that symbol. The wings/tentacles are made of fabric with iridescent paint on the edge.
The hexagons on the left side are placed close to one another, but on the right side of the heart, the hexagons seemed nicer spaced further apart. The spiritual experience of creating the piece was satisfying, and I became immersed in the process of creating it once the idea formed in my mind. I have placed the piece on my altar, and the image now serves as the logo for my spiritual healing business.
